Stress-Free Care

We understand that for many, a visit to the dentist can be accompanied by anxiety. At Ferguson Dental, we prioritize your peace of mind by offering safe, gentle sedation options tailored to your needs. Nitrous Oxide, or 'laughing gas,' provides a mild, immediate calming effect that dissipates quickly after your procedure, allowing you to drive yourself home safely. For those seeking deeper relaxation, our Oral Conscious Sedation allows you to remain comfortably awake while drifting through your treatment without a care. Our goal is to ensure you receive the high-quality clinical care you deserve, in an environment that feels entirely secure and supportive.

Common Questions

What is nitrous oxide, and how does it feel?

Nitrous oxide, often called 'laughing gas,' is a safe and effective sedative agent that is inhaled through a small mask. It helps you relax during your procedure, creating a gentle feeling of euphoria and calm while leaving you fully conscious.

Is sedation dentistry safe for everyone?

Yes, sedation is safe when administered by experienced professionals. We carefully review your medical history and lifestyle factors, monitor your vital signs throughout the procedure, ensuring a comfortable and secure experience tailored strictly to your needs.

Will I be unconscious during the procedure?

No, with nitrous oxide or light sedation, you remain conscious and able to respond to our team. You will simply feel deeply relaxed and detached from any anxiety or minor discomfort, making time seem to pass very quickly.

How quickly do the effects wear off?

One of the biggest advantages of nitrous oxide is how quickly it clears from your system. After the procedure is complete and the mask is removed, you will feel completely normal within minutes and can safely drive yourself home without assistance.

Can I drive myself home after my appointment?

If you have only received nitrous oxide, yes! You will be fit to drive after just a few minutes of breathing pure oxygen. For  sedation, you will need a companion to drive you, which we will discuss during your consultation.
